Alexandro José Gradilla is Assistant Professor of Chicana and Chicano Studies. His research expertise includes immigrant/minority health, gender, U.S. health ideology, racism, families/kinship, bioethics and cultural competency. Professor Gradilla’s publications have appeared in the International Encyclopedia of Revolution and Protest: 1500 to Present; Metropedagogy: Power, Justice, and the Urban Classroom; and Critical Studies in History. Professor Gradilla was recently honored by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences’ 2009-2010 Outstanding Untenured Faculty Award (Research, Teaching and Service).
