Dr. Melinda R. Pierson is chair of the Department of Special Education at Cal State Fullerton. She has been a professor at university for more than 10 years and was a classroom teacher for eight years. Dr. Pierson's research interests include effective interventions for students with mild/moderate disabilities, teacher training, and issues relating to affective characteristics (self-concept, loneliness and social skills) of children and adolescents with disabilities. She is the Director of the Intern Program for Education Specialists.
