Dr. Lilia Espinoza is an assistant professor in the Department of Health Science at Cal State Fullerton. She received her Master in Public Health from the University of California at Los Angeles and her Ph.D. in Preventive Medicine from the University of Southern California. She has close to 20 years of experience in HIV prevention work having conducted evidence-based, primary and secondary HIV prevention interventions with Spanish-speaking Latino immigrants; probation youth; HIV-infected women and their children; and health care providers of patients living with HIV. Currently, she is working with a team to link and retain HIV-infected incarcerated individuals to HIV care upon release to the Los Angeles area and with another team on evaluating an intergenerational, culturally tailored intervention for Latina mothers and daughters.
