Dr. Dana Rutledge is a professor in the Department of Nursing at Cal State Fullerton. She is also a Nursing Research Facilitator at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, CA.  Prior to this, she was an independent nurse consultant and served as Project Associate on the California Strategic Planning Committee for Nursing at the University of California, Irvine, California.

Dr. Rutledge has been active in the early development of evidence-based practice initiatives for the Oncology Nursing Society, having led the work team that established the Evidence-Based Practice Resource Center. She has authored publications covering a wide variety of topics including processes and products of evidence-based practice; barriers to research utilization for oncology staff nurses, nurse managers and clinical nurse specialists; assessing work retention issues; and developing a philosophy for a school of nursing.  She is Coeditor and author for the Online Journal of Clinical Innovations (www.cinahl.com; OJCI). She currently is working on research projects related to symptom management and optimal functioning in persons with fibromyalgia.
