Dr. Ofir Turel is an associate professor of Information Systems and Decision Sciences at the College of Business and Economics at Cal State Fullerton. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from McMaster University, Canada. Before joining the academia, he has held senior positions in the information technology and telecommunications industries.
Dr. Turel’s research interests include behavioral and managerial issues in technology infused environments. He currently studies how individuals become pathologically addicted to technologies, how these addictions can be measured, and the ways these addictions affect the social life and work-life balance of individuals. His award-winning works have been published in several peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of MIS, Communications of the ACM, Information and Management, Telecommunications policy, and Journal of Information Systems, and presented at various international conferences.
