Dr. Tricia Kasamatsu is an assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Cal State Fullerton. She is a certified athletic trainer with clinical experience working in university settings, an orthopedic physician's office, and a community concussion clinic. She recently received her Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Cultural and Curricular Studies from Chapman University in Orange, CA. In her previous experience, Dr. Kasamatsu has taught health and biology in a secondary school setting. Her current research interests are related to concussion management and healthcare provided in secondary schools and colleges. Dr. Kasamatsu's has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Athletic Training for her research examining academic support for student athletes with concussion injuries. She continues to give back to the CSUF student body through her current service on the Kinesiology Department's Graduate Studies Committee and in her role as advisor to the Far West Athletic Trainers Association (FWATA) Student Committee.
