Dr. Kristin J. Kleinjans is an assistant professor in the Department of Economics at Cal State Fullerton. She is an applied microeconomist with interests in health and inequality, labor economics, and the economics of education. Her approach is often interdisciplinary and incorporates results from psychology and sociology into economic models. Her recent work analyzes how different health insurance systems affect retirement behavior. In other work, she provides reasons for gender differences in educational and occupational choices. Her articles have appeared in peer-reviewed journals, including Economic Inquiry, Economics Letters, the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, and the Journal of Economic Psychology
